Delete your Unlike Vault account.

Unlike Vault is published by Adamanture Private Limited. Deleting your account removes every row we hold for you. It is immediate, and it cannot be undone.

The short answer

In the app: open Unlike Vault → Settings → Delete account. Without the app: email dev@adamanture.com from the address you signed up with. You do not need to install or reinstall anything to delete your account.

§ 01 · In the app

Works in the Unlike Vault app for Android and Windows, and in the web app.

  1. Sign in.
  2. Open Settings → Delete account.
  3. Confirm that it is you. Unlike Vault accepts either proof:
    • Your passphrase, if you have it. The app proves you know it without sending it to us.
    • Signing in again with your provider — whichever one your account was created with. A fresh round trip to them proves you still control the identity. The Windows and Android apps sign in with Google or Microsoft; a Zoho account signs in on the web, and deletes there.

Confirmation is required because a stolen session alone must not be able to destroy an account. It is not there to slow you down, and there is no waiting period, no queue, and no review.

Your session ends the moment it completes, on every device.

§ 02 · If you have lost your passphrase

You can still delete your account yourself. Deleting does not need your passphrase — only opening your files does. Signing in again with the provider your account was created with proves you control the identity, which is all Unlike Vault asks for before it destroys the account. Use the route in § 01 and choose the provider option.

To be plain about what this does not give you: it deletes the account, it does not recover anything. Files you encrypted stay encrypted, and nobody — including us — can open them without the passphrase.

§ 03 · Without installing the app

If you cannot reach the app at all, email dev@adamanture.com from the address you signed up with and ask us to delete your Unlike Vault account. A human answers. We action it within 30 days of verifying the request, and usually far sooner.

Write from the address on the account if you can — it is how we verify the request without asking you for anything else.

§ 04 · What gets deleted

Everything we hold for you, in a single cascading delete:

  • Your account record — the user row itself, and your email address.
  • Your provider identity — which provider you used and the subject identifier it assigned you.
  • All key material — your wrapped account key, its key-derivation salt and parameters, the keyed proof of your passphrase, and your passphrase hint.
  • Passkeys registered for the account, including each one's wrapped copy of your account key.
  • Sessions and devices on every device, invalidated immediately.
  • Any pending sign-up or sign-in state.

The wrapped keys deleted here are the only copies of the material that opens your files. Deletion is irreversible in the strong sense: there is no backup we can restore you from, because there is nothing we could have restored you with.

§ 05 · What is not deleted

  • Encrypted files in your own cloud. If you connected a Google Drive or OneDrive vault, those encrypted objects are in your storage account, not ours. Deleting your Unlike Vault account does not remove them. Delete the vault folder yourself if you want them gone — and note that without your passphrase they cannot be opened by anyone, including us.
  • Encrypted files on your own devices. Files you encrypted in place stay where they are, encrypted. Delete them yourself if you want them gone.

Everything sensitive we held was ciphertext we could not read, so deletion is belt-and-braces rather than the thing standing between you and exposure. The Privacy Policy has the full picture.
