File 008 · Supported Storage
Your device or your cloud. Encrypted first.
Unlike Vault protects the data, not the place it’s kept. It encrypts on your device and keeps the result on that device or in a cloud you already use.

§ 01 · At launch
Your device, plus three clouds.
Your device first, plus personal Google Drive, OneDrive and Dropbox — the same options in the Windows and Android apps. Your Encrypted Notes live in the same vault and are backed up, still encrypted, to any cloud you connect. You sign in to Unlike Vault with Google or Microsoft, whichever storage you choose. Unlike Vault is in development, and both apps launch with these options.
This device
Windows and Android
Keep encrypted files and notes on the device itself. No cloud account needed, and nothing to connect.
Google Drive
Personal accounts
The vault is a folder the app creates. Unlike Vault can only see the files it made itself.
OneDrive
Personal accounts
The vault lives in Apps/Unlike Vault, the app’s own folder, and nowhere else.
Dropbox
Personal accounts
The vault lives in the app’s own folder. Dropbox connects as storage only.
§ 02 · Coming soon
More providers, on one condition.
More storage providers are coming soon. We add one only when it lets the app work inside its own folder and nowhere else in your account. Until then, it’s your device, Google Drive, OneDrive or Dropbox.
§ 03 · Not supported
What doesn’t connect.
- Work and school storage. OneDrive work or school accounts and managed Google Workspace accounts aren’t supported. Personal accounts only.
- Other clouds. Zoho WorkDrive and any service not listed above aren’t supported.
- Other operating systems. There are no macOS, iOS or Linux apps. On any computer with a modern browser, the web version encrypts and decrypts files, without folders, cloud or Notes.
- Dropbox as a sign-in. Dropbox connects as storage; you sign in with Google or Microsoft.
